document.write('<span class="boldText">What We Heard&#8230; While Asking!</span><br /><span class="regText">Last week, while training a group of bankers at an off-site hotel location, I experienced a real-life example of <i>ask and they\'ll assist</i>. Since I was staying at the hotel, I took some time to talk with the hotel manager and listen to his concerns about running the hotel and steered the conversation a bit by asking him about his banker since I was training bankers.  I learned that he was unhappy with his current bank because they had just gone through a merger with another big bank. I listened as he vented and went on about how he no longer felt like this bank cared about him and his business.  (The first part of connecting with someone is to really listen to him or her and understand what he or she is saying).  I then asked if he would be willing to talk to the bank I was training.
